RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A wildfire in Rapid City has shut down a popular hiking spot.

The fire on what is known as M Hill covered about 15 acres late Wednesday and was not contained. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Fire Department spokesman Jim Bussell says about 100 city, county, state and federal fire personnel responded to the blaze. It was being fought on the ground and from the air.

There was no immediate word on the cause, though officials suspect it was human-caused.
