There was perhaps no one in country music history that grew the country music brand more than Johnny Cash. In an era when, largely, country music was my parents music, Johnny Cash made it OK for kids to like it, too. In fact, if you didn't listen to (and love) Johnny, you just weren't cool.

And then country music in general, and Columbia Records specifically, dumped Johnny Cash, it's biggest legend.
