There have been some great female artist's in the history of Country Music.

From Patsy Montana to Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline to Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton to Dottie West.  Many became huge stars.  Some became legends.  A few, a very select few, became country music icons.

Such is the case with Virginia Wynette Pugh, from Bounds, Mississippi, who became Tammy Wynette and in the process captured the heart's of millions of fans around the nation and around the world.
