From 1957-1963, we delighted to the genius that was Paladin. You remember Paladin, don’t you?
Oh yeah, the show’s title was ‘Have Gun, Will Travel’. But most of us just knew it as Paladin.
The series followed the life of this guy, this Paladin. Paladin was a gunfighter and of course there were ton’s of gunfighter’s back in the heyday of television westerns.
But Paladin was different.
He was a gentleman gunfighter.
He lived in the finest hotel in San Francisco. He loved opera, theater, was elegant and stylish.
And he was a gunfighter. Hey, everyone needs a day job.
Richard Boone played the role of Paladin to perfection, so much so that the series was consistently in the Top 5 each week and the character endures to this day.
Richard Boone died in 1981 at the age of 63 from throat cancer.
