Preparations are in full swing for this year's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota's Black Hills, and officials are already looking forward to next year's 75th Diamond Jubilee.

This year's rally gets underway Monday(8/4/14), and motorcycle enthusiasts are already flocking to Sturgis. The state Highway Patrol is urging bikers and motorists to "share the road." Last year six fatalities were recorded in the Rapid City district during the rally.

The Rapid City Journal reports that reservations and visitor inquiries indicate attendance this year might match last year's event, which drew more than 467,000 people.

Some officials estimate that next year's rally might draw close to a million people.

This year's rally runs through August 10th
