Country Star Eddy Raven began life as Edward Garvin Futch, born in Layfayette Louisiana. One of 11 children, you can certainly hear the Cajun influence in most of Eddy's great country hits.

Eddy's string of Top 10 Country hits began in 1982, stretching through 1990 with 6 number one's along the way, including 'I Got Mexico', 'Shine, Shine, Shine' and 'Joe Knows How To Live'.  Here on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, Eddy opens with his great hit 'Bayou Boys'.

A great songwriter as well, Eddy has had songs recorded by artist's from Faron Young to Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello to Kenny Chesney, George Jones to Gene Watson.

So whatever happened to Eddy Raven?

Well, he's alive and well at the age of 69 (He'll be 70 August 19, 2014...Happy Birthday!) and, according to his website, still performs on stage.

Oh...and when you crank up an Eddy Raven hit, get ready to dance.
