If you are strictly a fan of Classic Country music, the name Elvin Bishop probably doesn't mean anything to you.

But if you are a music fan in general, and a blues/rock fan in particular, you know who Elvin Bishop is and you love his music.

Elvin Bishop didn't have huge 'mainstream' success until 1976.  That's when he and his band released a song called 'Fooled Around and Fell In Love' and suddenly rock and roll fans knew him real well!  The song was a Top Ten rock smash, played coast to coast and around the world.  Interestingly, the singer on 'Fooled Around and Fell in Love' was Mickey Thomas who later gained fame with the rock band Jefferson Starship.

In the video below, listen to the Elvin Bishop Band perform this great rock classic.

But what does all this have to do with Classic Country Music?

Well, proving that you can't keep a great song down, in 1985 Country Star T.G. Shepard had a country hit with...yep, 'Fooled Around and Fell In Love'.

Check out T.G. singing his country version of the song...really not that much difference!
