What Ever Happened To Casey Kasem?
It’s a sad way to wind down the life of the man who once thrilled us all with long distance dedications, a romp through each week’s top 40 songs and his signature sign off: ‘Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars.’
Casey Kasem, 81, is now in advanced stages of Parkinson’s Disease and his children are being denied access to their father by their stepmother, Jean Kasem.
‘My dad is very sick, and we have been completely shut off from him for the last three months,’ said Kerri Kasem. She added, ‘There is no money issue here, we just want to see our dad. We love him, and everyone knows his kids and grand kids are a source of joy for him.’
Mike, Julie and Kerri Kasem, all from Casey’s first marriage, staged a public protest outside their father’s Los Angeles home carrying signs that read things like: ‘Jean, Why won’t you let me see my Dad?’
In response, Jean Kasem reportedly called police to keep the group, including some of Kasem’s elderly friends and co-workers, away from the mansion’s gates.
