The 19th Annual Festival of Cultures is coming up this Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Falls Park and this year they've even added an additional hour! The fun gets underway at 10 AM and doesn't end until 7 PM. Admission is free, parking is free, in fact the only thing you pay for is what you eat and whichever arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing or collectibles you just have to buy!

Every year the food is one of the biggest stars at the festival and this year will be no different. You can start your day with a fruit smoothie, lunch on beef or chicken shawarma, tacos, and ribeye sandwiches, then end the day with a dinner of kabobs, etoufee, falafel or just try it all!

Entertainment is never in short supply at this event either! There is a parade which features the flags of many countries at 11:30 AM followed by a day of music and dancing with everything from Mexican jazz to Vietnamese dancers and South Dakota's own Brule headlining at 4:00 PM. Not to mention all of the informational and educational booths at this event.

There will also be a special Kids World where children can find lots of fun and educational activities, plus hands-on, make & take projects that teach them about the importance of cultural diversity too, while they're busy just being kids.

The Festival of Cultures benefits the Sioux Falls Multi-Cultural center which plays an integral role in our ever-growing, ever-changing city. They offer community orientation, English language and life skills classes. They provide translation and immigration services as well as a wide array of adult and youth services programs and they help to educate the rest of us about cultural diversity and its value in our city.
