Westchester prevailed on their home court holding off Sioux Falls 95-91 Friday night in White Plains, New York.

The Knicks (18-12) did build a 19-point lead in the first half. Jimmer Fredette didn’t play after the first quarter due to an illness. Fredette did average 36.5 points over two games in Sioux Falls last weekend.

Jarnell Stokes for the Skyforce (22-7) did return to the team on assignment from Miami to post 21 points and 15 rebounds with most of the damage done in the third quarter (12 points, 6 rebounds). Sioux Falls didn’t make any of their last 10 three-point attempts. Westchester didn't break 20 points in either the third or fourth quarters after putting up at least 30 in each 12 minute segment in the first half.

Westchester did make key plays in the final minute to secure the game by setting up Jordan Bachynski for the tie-breaking bucket and a key block to preserve the lead. Sioux Falls didn’t miss any free throws in the second half.

Sioux Falls did take the lead during the third quarter by ripping off a 24-6 run. Westchester didn’t put up many shots from the floor (12) in the 4th quarter. The Skyforce didn’t lose three straight games this season until this one.

Travis Trice did lead Westchester in scoring and assists with 20 and 6 respectively while Bachynski finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Behind Stokes, Keith Benson didn’t quite get a double-double with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the Skyforce. Rodney McGruder also did return after a two-game absence to post 19 points and 7 rebounds for the ‘Force.

Both teams will have to play again on Saturday night. Westchester goes to Maine while Sioux Falls is at Erie.
