If you're searching for a way to "give back," a number of local organizations are in need of some help. Here's this week's Volunteer Opportunities from the Helpline Center.

Casino Day Volunteer

Active Generations will be holding a casino day on Thursday, April 16 and is looking for a business or group of adults that could come and help run the Casino games and serve food. The volunteers are needed from 1:45 PM to 3:30 PM.

Growing Resilient Sioux Falls

The American Red Cross is hosting "Growing Resilient Sioux Falls" on April 18 in order to increase preparedness and fire safety in our community. Volunteers are needed to visit homes to share preparedness information, provide blood pressure checks, and install free smoke alarms in homes that need them

Pancake Days

The Sioux Falls Downtown Lions Club "Pancake Days" at the Sioux Falls Convention Center is Tuesday April 21st from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday April 22 from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to help bus tables, set tables, assist people who have special needs get their food, clean up the dining area and more. With over 13,000 people attending, and 60,000 pancakes to be served, they sure could use your help.

March for Babies

"March for Babies" is the March of Dimes' signature fundraising event. Every baby deserves a healthy start and the March of Dimes is working to do this through research, advocacy, education and community services. Volunteers are needed to help with the walk on April 25 at the University of Sioux Falls Stewart Center. Assistance is needed with everything from set up to clean up.

Walk to Cure Diabetes 2015

South Dakota’s "Walk to Cure Diabetes" draws over 3,000 people to come and celebrate fundraising efforts to cure Type 1 Diabetes.  Volunteers are needed on Saturday, April 25 to work at registration, direct the walkers, face painting, kids area, and many more opportunities.
