I wouldn't part with my memories of watching TV with mom and dad for nothing. Many shows entertained us in that old living room and made for a happy life.

One show that was significant was The Ed Sullivan Show. He was a guy that just came across as part of the family on a Sunday night.

Every week we would watch to see who he had as a guest. The biggest names of all time in entertainment were seen first by us on his show.

The legendary television host Ed Sullivan died at the age of 73. He passed away 42 years ago on October 13, 1974.

During his broadcasting career he had a number of TV firsts by introducing a long list of entertainers into homes. Among them: Jack Benny, Humphrey Bogart, Jackie Gleason, Elvis Presley, and of course, the Beatles.
