With the New Year fast approaching, chances are you'll soon be on the lookout for a few new diet fads to fulfill that New Years weight loss resolution you plan on making.

Here's a crazy one to keep at the top of the stack to try.

There's a new diet plan that claims all you need to do is simply eat all of your meals within an eight-hour span, at the exact same times every day, don't eat a single thing after 4:00 PM and supposedly you'll be able to sit back and watch the weight just melt away.

That's right, the days of only eating radishes and a cup of pecans each day for three straight weeks to drop 10 pounds are over.

This new plan sounds good, if you don't mind going to bed every night starving that is.

Researchers at the Salk Institute in California say they have discovered the trick to helping you lose weight. And the nice thing according to them, you don't have to reboot your life to make it happen.

The research has shown if you follow that schedule, your body will do a better job of burning calories, because it will start to predict when food is coming.

They conducted that weight loss test on mice, and the mice that ate within an eight-hour window lost more weight than mice eating the exact same number of calories spread across a longer period of time.

You should know this plan was especially effective in mice that were extremely overweight.  Once they started following a shorter eating time frame, they dropped around 5% of their body weight in a matter of just a few days.
