The South Dakota Senate State Affairs Committee voted to support putting the issue of gambling expansion on the November ballot. The proposal needs the approval of the full Senate, and then the signature of the Governor.

Supporters of the expansion say it is needed so Deadwood can better compete with gambling options offered in other states. Iowa and Colorado offer more gaming options than South Dakota.
