He's the biggest name in television news broadcast history.
It didn't matter if you lived in New York City, Los Angeles....or maybe a little farmhouse near Leota, Minnesota.
At 5:30 P.M. (6:30 on the coast I suppose), there he'd be, the 'Most Trusted Man In America', telling us what happened in the world today. And of course, the famous sign-off night after night after night.
'And that's the way it is'.
But Walter wasn't always there, of course. There had to have been a beginning, that first news broadcast.
