It's finally happened, the University of Virginia's baseball team has finally brought home a National Title and doing so after coming so close in 2014.

As National Runner-Ups in 2014, Virginia had a chip on their shoulder and experience on their side.  They just needed things to break their way and continue to play the baseball that had taken them to their fourth College World Series appearance in school history.

Just like a year ago, Virginia ran into Vanderbilt who took home the title in 2014.  The series was great, with Vandy winning game one, Virginia taking game two and the Cavs winning the decisive game three 4-2.

I've spent many days in Omaha at the College World Series and I still today find complete joy in locking in for two weeks and watching the series play out.

The passion, the geography, the proximity accompanied with some really good baseball always catches my attention each June.

This year didn't disappoint.

Another one in the books with a new name to the list of champions at the College World Series as the Virginia Cavaliers sit atop the College Baseball world.
