An 8th grader from Vermillion, South Dakota is heading to Washington D.C. to take part in this years Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Logan Gregg had to win competitions in his classroom, then the whole school, then the regional competition and finally, the state competition at the University of South Dakota in March. Now it's off to the big stage.

The first round takes place on Tuesday, where he will have to take a vocabulary test with the other 280 competitors from around the nation. The next preliminary rounds follow on Wednesday and if he makes it that far, he will be featured on ESPN 2 in the finals on Thursday.
