USD Grad Compton Helping Out In DC

Making a NFL team isn’t all stars and glory. And not all the work comes on the practice fields either. Ask USD grad Tom Compton.

Compton, who was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 6th round to bolster their offensive line, spent one afternoon helping fellow rookie Kirk Cousins move into his apartment.

According the the Washington Post:

On Wednesday, Kirk Cousins revealed that he spent the night, after a full day of Redskins practice, moving into this apartment in Ashburn. So Cousins rented a U-Haul, loaded it up in Leesburg with Cooley’s help, and drove it to Ashburn where fellow rookie Tom Compton helped him unload. Cousins admitted that next time he’ll spare his teammates and consider hiring movers.

There is no word if the Redskins’ wanna-be back-up quarterback paid Compton and the others to help out. Hopefully, it was at least a six pack.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Cousins and Compton have teamed up. According to the Washington Post, Cousins, a Chicago native, and Compton celebrated a touchdown during a pre-season game with Chicago using a leaping wind-mill high-five made famous by Walter Payton. Cousins explained the celebration on his Twitter page:

Told @TomCompton76 if we scored at Soldier Field we’d celebrate like Sweetness did after breakin the rushin record.”

You can check out a picture of the celebration on the WashingtonPost.com.
