On Wednesday, University of Minnesota athletic director Norwood Teague went before the Board of Regents and presented the first part of a $190 million, six to eight year building plan to upgrade the Minnesota Golden Gophers facilities.

Teague's proposal will feature a new football practice complex, men's/women's basketball facility, Olympic sports indoor facility, outdoor track, women's gymnastics facility, wrestling training facility, training table and a new academic center.

The new complexes and facilities will be located where the old Bierman athletic building, football, baseball and softball complexes are currently located.

Earlier in the year, Teague speculated the project would only cost $80 to $120 million, but the final cost was well above what Teague thought the cost of the project would be.
