MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Two ceremonial first pitches at Target Field in one season. Tyus Jones has become quite the Minnesota celebrity.

The Timberwolves rookie point guard will take the honor on the mound again Thursday night before the Twins host the Seattle Mariners. The news was announced Wednesday.

Jones was one of two first-round draft picks by the Wolves last month. Jones, of course, starred at Apple Valley High School in the Twin Cities before playing one season and winning a national championship at Duke. The Wolves made a trade to move up and take Jones with the 24th overall pick.

Jones threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Twins' home opener, along with Kevin Garnett, who's now his Timberwolves teammate.
