Vance Worley was supposed to be the Minnesota Twins ace after he was acquired from Philadelphia for Ben Revere. However, it hasn't worked out that way for the Twins and Worley.

Worley was beat up by the Braves Wednesday, allowing eight runs in three and two-thirds innings. His 2013 season ERA has now rose to 7.21, while allowing 82 hits, and nine home runs in 48 and two-thirds innings pitched.

The Twins haven't brought anyone up for Worley, but one of the Twins top pitching prospects, Kyle Gibson could be getting a call real soon. Gibson has thrown two straight shutouts in Triple-A.

In other Twins news, Trevor Plouffe was placed on the seven-day disabled list after a collision on Tuesday night gave him a concussion. Infielder/outfielder Chris Colabello was recalled from Triple-A to take Plouffe's spot.

Minnesota also placed outfielder Darin Mastroianni on the 60-day disabled list.

The Twins have now lost eight games, and fell to 18-25. Minnesota is now last in the AL Central and seven games back of Cleveland.
