More progress is being reported in the reconstruction of the 10th and Sycamore intersection in eastern Sioux Falls.

The State Department of Transportation is traffic is being switched Thursday evening to the new southbound lanes of South Sycamore Avenue.

Tenth & Sycamore traffic will still be just one lane in each direction, but the DOT says the contractor, T & R Contracting of Sioux Falls, is beginning work on the northeast quadrant of the intersection.

The project involves grading, underground utilities, curb and gutter, storm sewer, retaining wall, signals, roadway lighting, pavement marking, permanent signing and concrete paving.
