There have been so many eras and several generations of fans. The sound and style has changed so much over the years.
I have been a fan and a study of country music for over 50 years now. The first music I was exposed to was from the 1950's.
I'm promoting and playing today's new artists everyday professionally on my radio shows. I'm also featuring hits from the 50's and everything in between.
Let me tell you, there's some serious diversity in music selection and commentary to get thru a show. There are artists from seven different decades to like and talk about, and more importantly, be able to keep my audience entertained with.
Every time I put on a song from 50 years ago, I fear losing a young listener. Then I play a new artist of today that's topping the charts, and hope I don't turn off a veteran country music fan.
