Tool Theft Delays Construction of Habitat for Humanity House
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Construction on a Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity house for a family in need has been hampered by the theft of about $1,200 worth of tools from the job site.
The items stolen on Nov. 6 include saws, cordless drills, impact drivers, roofing nailers, grinders, framing guns, saws and ram drivers.
Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Scott Engmann says that's half the group's tool inventory.
The group is asking for donations of money and tools to get construction going again. Engmann says an anonymous donor contributed $1,000 on Thanksgiving Day.
Police are continuing to investigate the theft.
