Minnesota Timberwolves head coach and team president Flip Saunders announced that he is battling Hodgkin lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the Mayo Clinic.

Flip said earlier today that his doctors have called his condition a "very treatable and curable form of cancer."

Saunders reiterated that he plans on keeping the dual roles of president and head coach while he is treated for the disease.

Apparently, Saunders was diagnosed two months ago by doctors at the Mayo Clinic and immediately started treatment.

Judd Zulgad of ESPN 1500 in the Twin Cities joined ESPN 99.1 in Sioux Falls on Tuesday and said "there was no clue" that Flip was dealing with these issues.  The organization and Saunders did a very good job of keeping it under wraps while they went through the lottery, the draft and free agency.

We all wish Flip Saunders the best and our thoughts go out to his family as he battles this disease.
