Thomas Rhett fans attending his show on Friday (April 15) at Wild Bills in Atlanta, Ga., got a very special treat. During his set, Rhett introduced his father, famed singer-songwriter Rhett Akins, to the audience who joined him on the stage for a two-song performance.

"The one. The only. The man, the myth, the legend. Mr. Rhett Akins," Rhett sais as his father walked out on stage.

"How 'bout my son, Thomas Rhett?" Akins replied. "Are you going to sing with me?"

The father and son then performed two songs that the older Akins wrote, including "That Ain't My Truck." The song was released in 1995 and was Akins' third single from his debut album A Thousand Memories and peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

"I don't mean to get your ego any bigger than it already is but whenever you turn on the radio, probably 70 percent of the songs you hear are written by this guy here," Rhett said of his father. "We're going to play you a classic. This is called 'Boys 'Round Here' by Blake Shelton."

And with that, the father and son traded verses on the song made famous by Shelton. The song went to No. 1 and became Shelton's ninth consecutive song to top the country charts.

This isn't the first time the family has teamed up together. Rhett and his father share writing credits on his latest album. The two wrote "Like It's the Last Time," "Single Girl" and "Playing With Fire" together off of Tangled Up.
