I trend to bounce around the cable TV channel's a lot.  Maybe you do too.  For me, it's CNN, then the FOX News, MSNBC, over to ESPN (and through all the ESPN channel's, what, about a dozen of 'em?), on over to History, H2, of course METV (hey, i can't miss Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Rawhide and those Saturday Night SciFi classic's), maybe check out what's on Comedy Central.

And at almost everyone one of those cable stops, I see this guy trying to get me a cheaper motel room, even if I have no plans to stay at a motel.

I started seeing him as 'The Trivago Guy'.

Now, I'm watching this guy everywhere and I'm not even sure what the heck a 'Trivago' is.  Well, turns out, of course, it's one of those places that purports to compare room rates at a zillion hotels/motels, and get you the best rate.

Oh, okay, I've seen a ton ad's for those kind of sites.  Heck, Captain Kirk even tells me about those.

But that guy, he looks familiar.  Who is that guy??

Well, it turns out that he looks familiar because....well, he looks like the guy you see at the store, the gas station, the bar, at church or living down the street.

He kind of looks like every guy!

Actually, his real name is Tim Williams and he is an actor/musician.

According to an article in Rolling Stone:

"I was born in Houston and we spent a lot of time between there and New York, as my dad was the head golf pro at a private country club," Williams tells Rolling Stone. "My parents eventually divorced when I was 13 and mom, sis and I headed back to Houston. In high school I got into acting. I walked into the drama class one day after school and asked the teacher if she could make me an actor."

He goes on to say in Rolling Stone that he's had roles in 'Law And Order', as well as 'The Sopranos'

But, he says, mostly now people recognize him as 'The Trivago Guy'.

He lives in Germany. which is where the Trivago company is based.

Oh...and if you haven't seen the ad's, here's one of the many that are running.
