One of the great things about Country Music is being able to debate about what is the greatest this or that or the other thing.

What's the greatest country song ever?  Who's the greatest country singer ever?  What's the greatest country love song ever? Greatest cheatin' song? How about greatest songwriter?

Each of those question's might have a hundred different answers.  That's the beauty...we can all love our favorite song, singer, love song, cheatin' song, songwriter.

But I'm thinkin' one song stands alone as....the greatest double-dyin' song in country music history.

Oh, I know, we've had some fantastic 'death' songs (Heck, how about 'He Stopped Loving Her Today'?)  But it takes one great and unique song to have both people leave the planet by their own hand!

Well that song was written by the legendary singer/songwriter Bill Anderson and Jon Randall.  Entitled 'Whiskey Lullaby', that 2004 smash not only had both 'him' and 'her' dying.....but they died drinking!  And to top it all off....it had us wiping tears away by the end of the song.

So let's recap here: Drinkin'?  Oh yeah, big time.  Dyin'?  Yes, and not just one but two! Heart-tugging?  No question about that.  So in summation, what do we actually have?

Everything that country music is about.

Enjoy Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss, 'Whiskey Lullaby'.
