"The Saturday Night Massacre"sounds like something from a horror movie or perhaps something from mobster history.

Well it had nothing to do with monsters or mobsters. Believe it or not, it was from our government's top office.

And I remember living thru the era like it were yesterday, but it was many years ago. Back in the first half of the 1970's decade.

On this date, October 20, 1973, President Nixon fires Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox in what becomes known as "The Saturday Night Massacre."

The attorney general resigns and Congress files 21 resolutions calling for Nixon's impeachment.
