Well, apparently I've come late to the party.

Recently a new song came across my desk. That's one of the cool things about my job. I'll get new songs from new artists, songs I'm not familiar with by artists I've never heard of. Now, quite frankly, most of them aren't country music. Oh, they claim to be 'country', but they're either some sort of 'rap' or rehashed/revised rock and roll from 30 years ago or just plain flat-out loud. But then, every once in a while, something and someone comes along and...wow! That's not only real country music, that's real good country music!

Over the past few years, I've been introduced to great 'new' artists like Monte Good, Teea Goans, Mary Sarah, Zane Williams, James Robert Webb and others. As you know (or if you don't) at KXRB and KXRB.com, we feature the best of the best country music that's ever been recorded, and play only a select few of the new songs. (Why only a select few? because only a select few are real country.)

So when a single came across my desk by Richard Lynch and Billy Yates, I gave it a listen. And then a listen again. And then one more time.

This guy is good, the song was an uptempo thing that was, well, country. Wow, i thought to myself, another new guy that sings country music. Great!

And then I did some investigating on the internet. (Oh, and for me 'investigating' is just Google. Hey, I'm an old dog)

Come to find out, if the internet is truthful (and I assume it always is), Richard has been performing for over 30 years!

Oops, yep..I've come late to the party. But at least now I'm here!

Be listening for Richard Lynch and the Band on KXRB and KXRB.com. And here's the single, see what you think.
