The Reality of New Year’s Eve

New Year's Eve is full of expectations. Party, fun, memories, kisses; the best night of the year! But, it usually doesn't live up to the hype. Party all night? More likely struggling to stay awake until 11pm. Memories to last a lifetime? Probably some stuff you want to forget.

In fact the only two New Years I really remember were in 1989 and sometime in the 90s. 1989 was because I stayed up late to countdown to the 90s! As a kid that was something to be excited about...I guess. The other one, I was working fast food and counted down to midnight with the rest of the closing crew in the manager's office...then went back to cleaning the grill. I don't know why that night sticks in my memory, probably something to work out in therapy.
