When your buddies call and say, "we're getting a group together for a round of golf and knock back a few drinks afterwards...you in?" Your first thought is probably not exercise.

Instead you're thinking, "what's 18 holes and a half-a-cart" gonna cost me. Maybe it's just me.

You could rent a "$32 four-wheeled beer holder" or get in on the future of pasture pool transportation with a golf cart that actually floats gracefully across golf courses, and even over sand traps and water.

Designed by Oakley and pro golfer Bubba Watson, "Bubba's Hover" produces no tire marks, and puts 33 times less pressure on manicured greens than that of a human foot. But it would cost you a pretty penny. This prototype cost around $25,000!

However, this hover-craft has a much more important purpose. Ice and flood rescues.

Chris Fitzgerald, president of Neoteric Hovercraft, says,

Around 600 people lose their lives each year in ice related accidents, and the hovercraft makes ice rescues much safer."

He also hope that the hover-craft will have useful military applications, as well.
