We always hear about the most popular baby names of the year. But latest trends in offspring designations can also breed a backlash. I'm not talking about weird celebs that name their kids after the sandwich they had for lunch but, names that have been popular for a few years.

A survey from Baby Name Wizard and reported on Live Science, show the some of the most hated baby names are so called 'trendy' names like Jayden, Brayden, Madison and Addison.

The name that seemed to drive the most people nuts is a name that didn't even exist untill the 1990's, Nevaeh. That's "heaven" spelled backward

The authors of the survey point out that it's not a scientific survey just a gathering of opinions. They wanted to find the names that made people cringe.

Some of the reasons people give for not liking a name are because of an odd spelling. Or a name that put a  virtue on a child, like Destiny. People also disliked brand names, like Bentley, because they said it comes off as trashy.

I'm waiting for the rise in popularity of naming kids after Nintendo video game characters.

"Mario, Luigi, Zelda, Metroid time for dinner!"

"My name is Samus not Metroid!"
