At the start of the season it certainly wasn't looking good in the eyes of you Vikings fans. The thought of being in the post-season probably seemed like a dream.

But, here we are with one regular season game left, and a victory means going to the playoffs. Last time there was the 2009 season for the purple gang.

And who do the 'Vikes' face? The Packers! This will be a classic with both Vikings and Packers fan all over the place around here.

If you are a door-to-door salesman or a telemarketer, take my advice, don't come knockin' or calling on Sunday. We are going to be a little busy here!

Star running back, Adrian Peterson, has much on the line. The hallowed milestones of 2,000 yards rushing, and Eric Dickerson's single-season mark of 2,105 yards, are within reach. Peterson is 102 yards away from 2,000 and needs 208 against the Packers to break Dickerson's record.

He is also in the mix to become the first non-quarterback to win the MVP award since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006 with San Diego, and Peterson is confident that he's going to be the one to do it. And he's set to give it his all, most importantly to propel  MN into the playoffs.

And on top of all this, on Wednesday, four of the Vikings players were voted into the Pro Bowl. Peterson was selected for the fifth time. Kicker Blair Walsh, defensive end Jared Allen and fullback Jerome Felton also were named to the NFC team.

Walsh set an NFL record this season with nine field goals of at least 50 yards. Allen has 10 sacks this year while Felton helped pave the way for Peterson's big year.

With all that said, it's been an exiting season for Minnesota Vikings football, and it's definitely a finale on Sunday for the regular season. A win means we will be writing more in the weeks to come.
