Long gone are the days when Ward and June Cleaver would have all those loving conversations with the Beav and Wally every morning around the breakfast table.

These days it's every man, woman and child for themselves.

According to a recent survey, only 18% of people say they have time to help their kids get ready for school in the morning. And only 43% have ANY free time to spend with their family in the morning. Wow! How sad is that? No wonder the family unit has deteriorated into such a dysfunctional mess.

So what are parents doing instead of caring for their kids in the morning? Well, 51% appear to be checking their email, while another 48% are busy surfing the web.  Sorry little Billy and Susie, but another 47% of moms and dads need to ignore you in favor of their morning TV.  And 25% of parents are forcing their kids to take a backseat to the morning newspaper.

Kids aren't the only thing being ignored thanks to parents obsession with the Internet, social media and their own selfish morning routines.

The survey also found that 32% of parents don't have time to shave or put on make up themselves. Only 19% have time to iron their clothes, and 18% say they don't have any time to eat breakfast.

Hey, updating your Facebook status and sneaking in a few games of "Candy Crush" before work is important stuff, right?  Evidently so.
