It was back in December that T.G. Sheppard was a guest in 'The Mcdaniel Mess' one afternoon.

T.G. had a new album out called 'Legendary Friends & Country Duets', an album that featured guests artists like Crystal Gayle (would love to see a T.G. & Crystal full album!), Lorrie Morgan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley and many more great artists. At that time I wrote a story, saying that for my money, that album was the finest country album of the year. And I still feel that way.

Well, T.G. turned out to be not only one of our favorite artists here at KXRB (yep, we play all his great classics) but also one of the genuinely nicest people I've ever visited with.

And as it turns out, one of those legendary friends that T.G. has a duet with on the album is Merle Haggard. The song is called 'Song Man' and it's a beautiful cut that both T.G. and the Hag could be proud of.

Well, over the past several months T.G. and I have stayed in touch and on Friday (April 15) T.G. will join us in 'The Mess' around 3:30 or so to talk about working with the late great Merle Haggard, and being one of the last people that Merle recorded with. I hope you can listen in at AM 1000 KXRB or online here at KXRB.com.
