Moe Bandy has had a fabulous career in country music. He has recorded a number of hits.

The song that stands out the most, is "Bandy The Rodeo Clown". It is the song that established him as an artist.

The song was one of his most popular hits. And most importantly, Moe's personal favorite.

The song describes him because he worked in rodeos in his early life. Plus the song was written by his friend, Lefty Frizzell.

The song was recorded in 1975, the same year Lefty died of a stroke at the young age of 47. Frizzell wrote the song with Whitey Shaffer, who had been giving songs to Bandy.

Moe Bandy learned to play music as a child, but showed little interest in music during high school. His love was rodeos. And by the time he was 16, he and his brother were competing in rodeos all over Texas.

In 1962, tired of the bruises and fractured bones, he began to pursue a career in country music. Playing beer joints at night and working as a sheet metal worker during the day with his dad was the life he lived until breaking thru in country music in the mid 1970's.
