Sioux Falls Police will hold their third annual "Stickers-and-Snickers" event Thursday evening as children are out trick-or-treating.

Spokesman Sam Clemens says officers who are out on patrol between 6:15 and 7:30 that evening will hand out police-badge stickers and candy to kids.

Clemens says the Lewis Drug stores provide the candy for officers to hand out, and he says plans call for all officers on patrol during those hours to have candy and stickers for trick-or-treaters.

He says if call volume allows, the officers will go throughout the city.

Clemens says officers and kids alike enjoy "Stickers-and-Snickers," and he says parents also like to see their children interacting with police officers.

He says at least four South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers will ride with officers as well.
