For others, Steve Martin is known as one of the great comedic actor's of the past half century, starring in movie hit after hit, beginning with the hilarious 'The Jerk'. Having appeared in movies with many of Hollywood's greatest talent's, you can often find a Steve Martin classic on TV.

But this man is the definition of the term 'multi-talented'. He has become one of the most successful and accomplished artist's in bluegrass music. Touring with his band, Steve has thrilled audiences with both his comedic take on the genre' and instrument as well as his mastery of the banjo.

And now he's being honored for it. The following is from the Associated Press:

(AP) - For some people, the only banjo player they can name is Steve Martin, and the International Bluegrass Music Association wants to thank him for that. The association says it will give Martin a distinguished achievement award for introducing fans of his film and TV work to bluegrass music. Martin will get his award on October 1 in Raleigh, North Carolina, during the International Bluegrass Music Awards. Earls of Leicester lead the awards with five nominations.
