PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Agriculture Department has awarded 23 grants totaling $12,250 to rural youth organizations across the state.

The grants are available each year to 4-H clubs, FFA chapters and Family Career and Community Leaders of America chapters.

The grants help the youth organizations beautify and improve their communities. The maximum grant is $750, while the maximum grant for safety projects is $200.
