One man was sent to the hospital after a stabbing incident near downtown Sioux Falls. Interestingly, the victim had to be tracked down and the suspect was easily apprehended.

Sioux Falls Police responded to the call at 12:08 PM. Witnesses reported seeing a Native American male stab another Native American male in the stomach with a knife.

Once the act was committed, the suspect stayed in the shelter house in the park behind 811 E. 10th Street. A knife was found on 50 year-old Dennis Larry Ghost Bear who was arrested for Aggravated Assault.

Witnesses reported that the victim then left westbound towards the viaduct area. Officers tracked the 26 year-old man down near near 10th Street and Franklin Avenue.

Officers confirmed the puncture wound to the stomach which was non life threatening. He was transported to Avera McKennan Hospital for treatment.
