SIOUX FALLS - The U.S. Agriculture Department says spring wheat prices for January are averaging $8.06 per bushel, a decrease of 52 cents from the previous month.

The South Dakota office of the National Agriculture Statistics Service says the preliminary winter wheat price of $7.96 is down 35 cents from last month but up $1.38 from last January.

The January soybean price of $13.90 is 30 cents lower than last month but $2.30 higher than last year. The corn price of $6.80 is up 9 cents from last month and up 87 cents from last year.

The Ag Department says the preliminary all sunflower price, at $22.30, is down $1.70 from last month but down $7.80 from last year.

The January alfalfa price of $229 per ton is down $1 from last month.
