STURGIS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Department of Transportation says speed limits on some Black Hills highways will be lowered during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Officials say the speed limits are being lowered for safety reasons.

The weeklong event begins Aug.3 and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists. The rally is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
