SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) — Spearfish police say a woman who spent two hours burglarizing a Salvation Army thrift store on New Year's Day was caught by an alert officer when she later returned to retrieve her lost cellphone.

Authorities say 42-year-old Kimberly Bostwick used the store's phone to make a call to her cellphone so she could locate it. The officer used the redial feature on the store phone to identify the call. He then matched Bostwick's driver's license photo on a state database to the image of a woman on the store's surveillance video.

Bostwick was arrested for felony burglary and misdemeanor petty theft and intentional damage to property. She's free after posting $10,000 bond. Defense attorney Matthew Pike declined comment to the Rapid City Journal.
