SIOUX FALLS - Hundreds of people turned out for walks across South Dakota to help raise money for multiple sclerosis research and raise awareness about the auto-immune disease.

KELO-TV reports that dozens of people turned out for Saturday's Walk MS event in Sioux Falls. Amanda Mensing says the walk is important for her because she had multiple sclerosis for nearly five years. She says the donations that come in help.

In Rapid City, hundreds of people turned out for that city's Walk MS event. KEVN-TV reports that the Multiple Sclerosis Society's Upper Midwest chapter raised nearly $22,000 from Saturday's events.
