PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs has launched its new website.

Officials say the new site is designed to offer veterans a central clearinghouse of resources.

The department has also created a mobile friendly version, making it easier for veterans to access information from their smartphones or tablets.

Secretary of Veterans' Affairs Larry Zimmerman says it's important for the department to reach out to a new generation of veterans who grew up with computers and the Internet.

An estimated 75,000 veterans live in South Dakota.
