Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota has deployed 350 airmen to a southwest Asia operating base.

The airmen from the 28th Bomb Wing were deployed Tuesday morning. The Air Force won't say to which country or base the wing has been deployed.

The troops will support B-1 combat missions for the U.S. Central Command, which has responsibilities for areas where the Islamic State group is operating in Iraq and Syria.

We salute all of the men and women of our military and pray for their safety. We are extra proud of the ones from right here in South Dakota.
