SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State University Extension is offering a workshop this summer geared toward teachers and other youth educators interested in learning about garden education programs.

The workshop is scheduled for August 4th at the West River Ag Center in Sioux Falls. The training will provide teachers hands-on lesson plan ideas and nutrition resources for a school garden, information on growing vegetables and stories from area garden projects.

The classes are designed for teachers, after-school program leaders and other educators working with Pre-K through middle school teachers.

Participants will also discuss resources available to promote children's consumption of fruits and vegetables.

Registration and a $25 payment are due July 31st.
