Nobody's hotter in the Summit League right now than South Dakota State, as the Jackrabbits ran their win streak to a conference-high five games with a 77-60 win at Omaha.

SDSU was balanced on offense and stingy on defense.  The Jacks with two players with double-doubles, Jake Bittle with his first career milestone 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 10 rebounds, Cody Larson with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Brayden Carlson led all scorers with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

Defensively, South Dakota State, stunned by the Mavs at home last month, returned the favor, limiting UNO to 32 percent shooting.  Guards CJ Carter and Marcus Tyus, who combined for 31 points in the win in Brookings last month, had just 12 in this one.

SDSU led nearly wire-to-wire in Nebraska as Bittle sparked the offense with six early points and a six-point lead.  Mike Rostampour had seven quick points for UNO and the Mavericks had a short lived pone point lead.

But the Jackrabbit clamped down the rest of the way in the first half, limiting the Mavs to just 30 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes.

About the only thing SDSU didn't do well in the first half was long range shooting - just 1-of-8, but the Jacks made up for it, going 13-of-22 (59%) on their two-point attempts to open up a 37-27 halftime lead.

Bittle finished the first half with 11 points, Carlson with eight.

For the third straight game, the SDSU defense held a team under 40 percent shooting, and under 70 points.

The Jacks dominated the boards, outrebounding UNO by 18 and grabbing 17 offensive rebounds.

South Dakota State (15-10/7-3) plays at Western Illinois Saturday at 7:00pm.
