YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Senate has approved the sale of a century-old building at the state Human Services Center campus for use as a museum in Yankton.

Sen. Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says the building will be transferred to the Yankton County Historical Society, which will use private money to renovate the structure and turn it into a museum.

She says the building has not been used by the state for about 30 years.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard has been working on a plan to tear down some old buildings and restore others at the Human Services Center. The center provides treatment for the mentally ill and those who have chemical dependencies.
